Our Philosophy
At Imperial V3, we've built our platform on a foundation of trust and transparency. Our Fair Use Policy exists to ensure that our infrastructure remains fast, reliable, and affordable for everyone in our community.
We don't believe in nickel-and-diming our users. However, we do need to ensure that our resources are used responsibly and that no single user negatively impacts the experience of others.
What is "Fair Use"?
Fair use means using our services in a way that is consistent with your plan tier and doesn't abuse our infrastructure. We understand that usage patterns vary, and occasional spikes are completely normal and expected.
✓ Examples of Fair Use
- Using Imperial for hosting images or videos on your website, app, or social media
- Storing screenshots, design assets, or product photos
- Serving media via our CDN to legitimate users and customers
- Occasional traffic spikes from viral content or marketing campaigns
- Using ShareX or our API for automated uploads within your plan limits
- Applying CDN image transformations (
?w=,?h=,?format=, etc.) to your own hosted content
What is NOT Fair Use?
While we offer generous limits and zero egress fees, certain behaviors can strain our infrastructure or violate the spirit of our service. These include:
✗ Prohibited Uses
- Using Imperial as a general-purpose file hosting or backup service
- Hosting large archives or non-media content at scale
- Operating a public media proxy or mirror service that resells our infrastructure
- Automated scraping, crawling, or mass downloading of hosted content
- Using scripts or bots to artificially inflate traffic or operations counts
- Attempting to circumvent rate limits, storage quotas, or plan restrictions
- Using CDN image transformation parameters to proxy or serve third-party content not hosted on Imperial
- Using a lower-tier plan for enterprise-scale workloads (we'll reach out to help you upgrade)
Plan-Appropriate Usage
Each plan tier is designed for specific use cases. We expect users to choose a plan that matches their actual needs:
Starter Tier ($2.49 / 30D key)
Ideal for side projects, personal portfolios, and hobbyists. Not intended for high-traffic commercial applications or businesses.
Pro Tier ($6.99 / 30D key)
Perfect for creators, growing platforms, and small businesses. Designed to handle moderate traffic and professional workloads.
Business Tier ($16.99 / 30D key)
Built for teams and high-traffic applications. Includes advanced features and priority support for mission-critical infrastructure.
Storage and Bandwidth
While we offer zero egress fees, this benefit is predicated on legitimate, image-hosting use cases. If we detect that your account is being used to serve excessive bandwidth for non-image content or proxy traffic, we reserve the right to ask you to upgrade to a custom Enterprise plan.
Storage limits are enforced based on your plan. We'll notify you when you're approaching your limit and give you time to upgrade or clean up old files before any service interruption.
Our Response to Policy Violations
We're not here to play "gotcha" with our users. If we notice usage patterns that violate this Fair Use Policy, we'll typically:
- Reach out first. In most cases, we'll send you a friendly email explaining the issue and suggesting ways to resolve it.
- Work with you. If you're legitimately using our service but outgrowing your plan, we'll help you upgrade to a tier that better fits your needs.
- Take action if necessary. Only in cases of egregious abuse, illegal content, or refusal to cooperate will we suspend or terminate an account.
